Kathy Stahlman is a former member of Fat Chance Belly Dance and
has been teaching American/Improvisational Tribal Style (ATS
®)
belly dance since 2002. She recently moved from the San
Francisco area where she built a reputation as a skilled and
compassionate teacher and troupe director for Tribal Moon Belly
Dance.

Kathy has performed and taught workshops worldwide. She is part
of the troupe footage in three Fat Chance Belly Dance instructional
videos:
'Advanced Steps', 'Cues & Transitions', 'Directors’ Cut' and
in the performance video of the Fat Chance production of
'The
Gypsy Trail'
, performed at Theatre Artaud in San Francisco.

Kathy teaches pure ATS
®, a style of belly dance with precise,
structured movements that allow dancers to “shadow” each other
in a leading and following format. Each dancer gives and reads
nearly invisible body cues to seamlessly transition from movement
to movement. The connection between the dancers is so strong
that audiences do not realize they are witnessing a completely
improvised performance, nothing is choreographed.
