Tribal Moon Belly Dance performs American
Tribal Style belly dance, a modern belly dance
style influenced by ancient entertainers from
India, Turkey, North Africa and Southern
Spain. Tribal Moon’s artistic director, Kathy
Stahlman, is a former member of the world
famous troupe that created the ATS dance
style: San Francisco-based Fat Chance Belly
Dance.
American Tribal Style (ATS) is often mistaken
as an 'ethnic' look but is really just a beautiful
blend of movements, costuming and ancient
jewelry from India, North Africa, the Mid-East
and Spain. Colorful multi-layered full-flowing
skirts, coin-embellished bras and choli tops,
layers of arm bangles and necklaces, hair
adornments and exotic eye makeup round
out the multi-ethnic look of ATS costuming.

Classes and Workshops: In addition to being part of the original ATS dance troupe, Kathy is in three
Fat Chance instructional videos, and teaches classes and workshops in Central Oregon, and worldwide
to enthusiastic students from all dance backgrounds. She has built a reputation as a skilled and
compassionate teacher, sharing her knowledge and love of ATS to students around the globe.
Types of Performances: Tribal Moon is available for events of all types and sizes, including corporate
events, fundraisers, community festivals, birthday and wedding celebrations, and blessing ways. For a

We have worked with booking agents from C3 Events, Lay It Out Events and Specialized Events. Length
of performance time, music selection and costuming is customized to meet the needs of your event. We
aim to bring you a performance experience that complements your event and leaves a lasting-impression
on your audience, attendees and/or guests. Tribal Moon also donates performances to public events
that enrich the diversity of our community including charity and fund raiser. We welcome inquiries
regarding performance donation possibilities, as well as for-hire events.
