Raqsafara
The Raqsafara troupe, located in
Sisters, Oregon, has been
performing locally and beyond since
2000. Dancers, Sheba, Tasmeen,
Gardenia, Nalia and Kadesha solo in
various bellydance styles ranging
from folkloric to cabaret, and dance
together in choreographed and
improvisational dance pieces.
Troupe drummer Randy Smith plays
dumbek, tupan, kaval and zurna,
among many other instruments. The
Raqsafarians make the most of their
far ranging interests to bring variety
and a sense of fun to their
performances and classes.
